G'day guys,

If you're in Sydney and you get a chance, wizz down to your local newsagency and ask for yesterdays Herald as it has the 'Good Weekend' in it. I think its in the Melb Age as well, not sure about Qld or the other states.

Alternatively, go here:

http://newsstore.fairfax.com.au/apps/newsSearch.ac;jsessionid=603B887DA8F8ABF9ED5596F035845EC4?page=1&sy=nstore&sp=nrm&so=relevance&dt=selectRange&kw=along+came+a+spider&dr=1month&pb=all_ffx&rc=10&sfx=headline&sfx=text

And you can purchase a soft copy of the article "Along Came a Spider". Try and grab the actual paper though as its got a beauty of a T on the front of it rearing up, double full size.

The story by Mark Dapin portrays spider in a different sense is really quite interesting covering culture, anti venom techniques and arachnid welfare in captivity the wild. Species covered (including siome great pics) are Funnel Webs, Red Backs, Huntsmans, and obviously T's. Dapin interviews Dr Robert Raven (Qld Museum), Jackie Adams-Maher (Spider Girl @ Australian Reptile Park), Dr Mark Harvey (West Aus Museum), and finally 84 year old Spider Guru and self acclaimed poet from Qld Mr Doug Wallace.

All in all some great weekend reading with interesting excerpts from the country's custodians for spiders. If you get a chance try and grab it.

Cheers
