I have sexed sarina`s in the past and found them to have matured prior to reaching 100mm L/S (closer to 70mm L/S actually) , sarinas can reach 100mm L/S within 1 year and can easily reach 130mm L/S in 2 years and 180mm L/S within 4 years if given a good varied diet and adequate warmth . Yours would be mature without any doubt unless its a penultimate male which can get pretty big before maturing .

following pics are of another members sarina that I sexed for him (Hornet)

his abdomen still has some size to it , it will get to the size of a pea once he stops eating then you know he is on his last legs . Given the leg morphology I`d be inclined to say you have a Phlogius strenuus male there mate but don`t rush out and buy a female of that spp. just yet , it is pressumptuous on my part and is no way a definate id .

That is a 100% mature male , males do not normally moult again once mature and its likely he wont web up either ...his days are numbered , I bet you see him out wandering around the enclosure all the time ...he is looking for a female .

Males usually stop feeding once mature but if you can keep them feeding you may get 2 years out of them , dunno about yours cause i don`t know how long ago it matured , still looks pretty fresh though you said you had him 4 - 5 months now so the clock is ticking , the fact he is still eating 3 -4 crix a week is a good sign .

Sorry can`t id him either (males can be very hard to id from pics) .

Hi All,

My name's Peter, i'm from Melb, Vic and i'm new here! Very nice by the way - good to see that everybody contributes.  Smiley

I recently bought my first T (not sure on species, age, sex etc) it was labelled as medium, looked stunning and had to buy it. I also bought an exoterra enclosure, some coco peat, water dish, heat mat and a hide out for him / her to chill.

Funny thing is - i never see it webbing (hasn't webbed) and it only has 7 legs. I'll take some pics soon and post them. He/She seems happy and eats around 2 - 3 crickets a week. I have read that the legs grow back after a molt. Is this true? and is it common?

Promise to post some pics soon. Could someone possibly ID for me and give some general feedback re the setup?

Pete

OK... I Got bored haha - here they are. Any help / feedback would be great
